Former Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley was appointed to the NTTA Board by the Tarrant County Commissioner’s Court in December 2022. He has been a leader on transportation, sustainable communities, efficient government, air quality, higher education, military veterans and military family affairs issues. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. Whitley was elected to the Tarrant County Commissioners Court in 1996, becoming Judge in 2006.
He is a past president of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and a past chairman of the Regional Transportation Council, the Texas Conference of Urban Counties, and the Public Employee Benefits Cooperative. He is a member of the national Government Accounting Standards Advisory Council and serves on the University of North Texas System Board of Regents. He is a former member of the U.S. Navy Reserve. He and his wife Brenda have three children.
